The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) held SSC Stenographer Exam 2017 on September 11  in two shifts. According to experts, the paper was easy to moderate level.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) which conduct various test for recruitment for central government held on September 11  in two shifts. Overall exam is schedule between September 11 and September 14, 2017. So far September 11 has been completed. On September 11, the examination was held for two hours duration and it had total marks of 200. About 50 questions on General Intelligence and Reasoning carrying 50 marks, 50 questions on General Awareness carrying 50 marks and 100 questions on English Language and Comprehension were asked. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

According to experts the difficultly level was easy to moderate in both the shift. Most of the questions were from syllabus. Questions were asked from Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language. In reasoning section, 50 questions were asked. About 1-5 question each were asked from Syllogisms, Word formation, Analogy, Distance and Direction Test, Matrix, Blood Relation, Non Verbal, Odd one Out, Pattern Completion, Series, Dice, Statements & Conclusion, Word formation, Syllogism. They were easy to moderate level. One should have correctly replied about 45 question for a good chance to get selected.

General Awareness section had 50 questions. This section was dominated by questions from general science and current affairs, about 12-20 were asked from each of these segments. Other segments such as History, Geography, Polity, and Economics and Financial Awareness had 4-5 questions each. They all were easy to solve. An attempt of 30 questions should be considered as good attempt.

In English language section, questions from Reading Comprehension, Cloze, Synonyms & Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Phrases & Idioms, Active & Passive Voice, Error Spotting, Sentence Correction, Direct & Indirect Speech/Narration, Sentence /Para Jumbles were asked. They were easy to moderate level. Out of 100 questions, 70-75 is a good attempt.

STMicro quarterly profit declines by 18.4% owing to slow demand
