A 767 cargo jet flying from Miami to Houston with three crew members on the board crashed into south of Anahuac shortly before 12:45 p.m, said various media reports. The plane was operating as Amazon Prime Air.

Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said that his agency is responding to eyewitness and FAA confirmation that a large commercial airplane has been reported to have crashed in Trinity Bay south of Anahuac in the Trinity river.

The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and multiple agencies are responding at this time. According to the tail number, the plane was operating as Amazon Prime Air. This is one of 30 767’s in Amazon’s fleet.

“The @AtlasAirWW 767-300 that crashed in Trinity Bay (outside Houston) was operating as Amazon Prime Air – one of 30 767’s in Amazon’s fleet. The 767 was 26 yrs old, according to info on its tail number,” tweeted Jason Whitely Senior Reporter at WFAA-TV Channel 8.
