Vodafone Idea partners Paytm to offer cashback to prepaid customers

, India's largest telecom service provider announced a partnership with to offer exclusive cashback offers and vouchers on recharging through Paytm. Vodafone and Idea prepaid customers who transact for the first time on Paytm, can avail an assured cashback of Rs. 25 on a minimum recharge of Rs. 149 done through Paytm while existing Paytm users can enjoy cashback of Rs 20. Additionally, customers will get vouchers worth Rs. 375 from Paytm which can be used to buy movie tickets and to shop on Paytm Mall.

Vodafone Idea also launched a new combo offering for Vodafone prepaid customers in UP West, Punjab, Chennai and Tamil Nadu. The new recharge offers the simplicity of a single recharge by bundling talk time, free data and a discounted tariff rate, starting Rs. 25.

Earlier this month, the Paytm had announced a similar partnership with financial services major Visa to enable credit card payments across banks via the Paytm app. The mobile wallet firm has integrated BHIM UPI as a source of pulling funds for the customer to pay for credit card bill payments.

Recently Paytm made headlines when Berkshire Hathaway, a conglomerate run by billionaire Warren Buffett, picked up a $356 million stake in the parent of digital payments firm.

STMicro quarterly profit declines by 18.4% owing to slow demand

European chipmaker STMicroelectronics reported net revenues of $3.47 billion, marking an 18.4% decline compared to the same period last year. This downturn was particularly noticeable in the automotive and industrial sectors, although gains in personal electronics provided some balance.
