German technology firm Software AG has acquired San Francisco-based iPaaS startup Built.io. With this acquisition, the Built.io Flow and Embed products will come together as a single integrated offering with Software AG’s webMethods Integration Platform.
The acquisition opens Software AG’s webMethods integration capabilities to any Node.js developer and allows for enterprise-wide participation in integration projects. It also opens Software AG’s application and B2B integration and API portfolios to fast-growing developer communities.

Founded by serial entrepreneurs Nishant Patel, Neha Sampat and Matthew Baier, software vendor Built.io introduced its iPaaS offering, Built.io Flow in 2015. It has subsequently been named a Challenger in Gartner’s 2018 “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service” and was named a Cool Vendor in the report “Cool Vendors in Pervasive Integration, 2016.”

With Built.io Flow, Software AG can now also deliver integration via a completely embedded offering: A cloud-based integration solution that can be incorporated into any SaaS application. This enables end users to quickly integrate third-party data from over 300 sources directly into their application.
