In an interview with Tech Observer Magazine, Avasant Gaurav Dewan says India's defence modernisation necessitates a cohesive and secured ecosystem.

As India pushes for defence modernisation based on digital technology, the moment is ripe to implement the right security measures to ensure that nothing goes wrong, said a senior leader, who added that this required “some form of cohesive, complete ecosystem”

In an exclusive interview with TechObserver.in, , Associate Research Director, , who moderated a panel discussion on the topic of ‘Reimagining Cyber Security in the age of Cyber Warfare' stated that with growing focus on integrated platforms and digital, a cohesive and complete ecosystem is needed to thwart any cyber vulnerabilities.

“It was a great exchange of ideas within the defence sector, particularly regarding how the defence sector must upgrade itself in terms of digital technologies and at the same time apply the right security measures to ensure that nothing goes amiss, and yes, all of this requires a sort of cohesive, complete ecosystem to make this possible,” Dewan said.

On the National Summit, he said: “The experience was great. It was an honour to participate in this event and to be among the esteemed guests from the Ministry of Defence and from professionals from various industries.”

National DefTech Summit was organised by Tech Observer Magazine on November 25, 2022 at The Oberoi in New Delhi. The event focused on role of digital transformation, indigenisation and modernisation in India's defence sector.

Over 150 top leaders from the ministry of defence, the three services (Army, Navy, and Air Force), and important stakeholders such as Reliance, Adani Group, L&T, Mahindra, Tata, Arubaito, and Airbus, as well as defence startups like as New Space and Botlab Dynamics, attended the summit.

The day long event was supported by The Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), Qlik, Startup Odisha, Arubaito, Airbus, India Future Foundation, Felix Advisory and Alliance Mantra.

STMicro quarterly profit declines by 18.4% owing to slow demand
