Mumbai – Samsung on Wednesday launched its AI Home ecosystem in India, a platform the company said is designed to connect appliances, devices and services to provide greater convenience, energy efficiency and security for households.
The announcement, made at the company’s flagship store in Mumbai’s Jio World Plaza, marks part of Samsung’s “Future Living” strategy, which aims to integrate artificial intelligence across categories such as smartphones, TVs and home appliances.
Samsung said AI Home combines three areas of expertise: its device portfolio, its AI technologies including Galaxy AI and Bespoke AI, and the SmartThings app that links both Samsung and partner devices.
The system is designed to adapt to user behaviour and automate tasks such as lighting, air conditioning, entertainment and household chores.
“India is at the heart of this journey. Our three R&D centres in India are shaping exciting AI innovations here and taking them to the world,” said JB Park, president and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia.
Features and integration
The company said Galaxy AI will power productivity and wellness on mobile devices, Vision AI will provide natural language interaction and recommendations on TVs, while Bespoke AI will be applied to appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators.
Samsung AI Home is built around four categories of experience: simplifying routines through automation, supporting wellness through personalised care, lowering energy use via SmartThings Energy, and enhancing security with Samsung Knox Vault and blockchain-based Knox Matrix.
Samsung said households could see tangible cost savings, citing washing machine energy consumption reductions of up to 70 percent. The platform also aims to support nutrition planning, pet care and monitoring of family members through connected devices.
Growing focus on Indian market
The company said the launch reflects its commitment to India, where it operates three R&D centres, and aims to provide AI-powered technologies to millions of households.
India is among the fastest-growing markets for connected appliances and smart home devices, with rising internet penetration and demand for energy-efficient solutions driving adoption.
Samsung said its AI Home ecosystem will work across devices with a unified interface, positioning the platform as a step towards “ambient intelligence”, where connected systems operate seamlessly in the background of daily life.
