Optisafe launches distress alert smart device to bolster women safety

With an aim to bolster women safety and security, home-grown technology firm Optiemus Infracom under its new venture Optisafe has launched a distress alert device called ‘My Hero’. According to company executives, the newly launched device could be used during distress or in any emergency. The device has been designed in such a way that it could be placed in pocket or over a bag for easy access when needed in emergency.

Priced at Rs 2999, Optisafe My Hero device was launched in New Delhi by Thiruvananthapuram MP in the presence of TV host and Optisaf CEO Dinesh Prasad, among others.

“There has been growing concerns on women safety and associated crimes therefore making it crucial to have the right technological support to ensure the safety of the citizens. Our Optisafe My Hero device has been specially designed using patent pending technology taking special care on usage convenience and SOS communication making it extremely easy to use during distress situations,” said Dinesh Prasad, CEO of Optisafe.

“While the device can be used across multiple emergency use cases, Optisafe plans to bring a portfolio of devices to create a safer environment for the any distress situation,” he explained.

Optisafe women safety device My Hero comes with two-siren features. Once activated, it can Sound off loud distress siren simultaneously on the device as well the user’s smartphone. In addition, it also sends a SOS message and triggers distress siren to three pre-defined contacts.

The device has an inbuilt location tracker which opens up a live location tracker that the recipient can use to navigate the user’s location. In case of emergency, the device will also trigger audio and recording on the user’s smartphone, helping in understanding SOS situation during the incident thereby enabling them to react accordingly.

The device can be activated on the Optisafe , which is available on both Android and iOS devices. The users can download the app from the relevant app store and can also pair their Optisafe My Hero device using Bluetooth.

The company said it will be made available starting March 08 (Women’s day) both online and offline stores, exclusively across Indian subcontinents by Optiemus Infracom.
