It is often the case with most users that they simply delete an app they no longer want to use thinking it’s the end of the relationship between them and the app. But, despite that, the account still exists on the app and some apps even send notifications, promotions, etc via or phone number, whatever is linked.

With the new guidelines in place starting next year, app developers will have to give an option to initiate account deletion from within the app. It is also expected that this might redirect users to a web browser to complete the process. Still, it will be an easy yet important feature.

For those unaware, Apple is also adding a ‘Report a Problem’ button in iOS 15, iPad OS 15, and macOS Monterey. The feature allows users to report scams, offensive or abusive content.
