Avaya bets on Hospitality industry, launches smart desktop devices

Company said that the latest release of Avaya Vantage will support hospitality businesses with the Avaya IP Office Platform in addition to Avaya Aura.

has launched new smart devices aimed at digital transformation of hospitality companies. The newly launched includes Avaya Vantage, the company's flagship device and a portfolio of IP devices. Company claimed that Hospitality providers are already using the Avaya Vantage device to furnish guests with new amenities, such as bedside environmental controls and access to services. Company said that the latest release of Avaya Vantage will support hospitality businesses with the Platform in addition to . Enhancements in the latest version will also allow guests to synch their personal mobile phone to the Avaya Vantage device to use while staying at the hotel.

Avaya's new Hospitality IP devices portfolio initially consists of three new models. At the top of the line, the device includes a full 3.5 inch color display screen, HD audio, programmable soft keys, and speaker with acoustic echo cancellation. Mid-range has all the capabilities with the exception of the color display. A standard device is designed specifically for bathrooms, business halls or other housekeeping and service areas. All of these devices are supported by Avaya Aura, Avaya IP Office as well as the Powered by Avaya IP Office cloud service available from Avaya channel partners, said company.

“There's increasing demand on the hospitality industry to provide guests with a unique experience in amenities, services and comfort. Most guests don't want technology to be intrusive, but will appreciate the conveniences it can deliver. Avaya's smart desktop devices portfolio allows hospitality businesses to step up their game, providing guests with the ‘wow factor' that helps ensure repeat bookings,” said Jean Turgeon, vice president and chief technologist, Avaya.
