Lenovo names Amar Babu as business head for Asia Pacific region

Chinese multinational company, has announced the appointment of Amar Babu as business head for the company’s operations in the overall region, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand, and India/South Asia.

Babu succeeds Ken Wong, who will be elevated as President, Lenovo Solutions and Services Group to capitalize on the Group’s service-led transformation growth opportunities. Amar Babu is currently working as Vice President & Services Operations Leader at the Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group, a post he took up in 2018.

Babu has also worked as Vice President and chief operating officer of Lenovo Asia Pacific for three years, and prior to that in 2007 he was working as managing director, Lenovo India and South Asia.

Before joining Lenovo, Amar Babu, an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and a BE from PSG College of Technology, held top positions in major global companies including HCL, Citibank, and intel. According to the company sources, Babu will be based in Mumbai.
