US-based digital engineering and IT services company Altimetrik on Friday announced the opening of a healthcare and life sciences centre in Hyderabad and introduced PharmaOS, an artificial intelligence platform aimed at pharmaceutical companies and healthcare organisations.
The centre, located at the company’s 22,000 sq ft office in Gachibowli, will develop technology solutions for drug discovery, clinical research, pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory compliance and healthcare delivery.
Altimetrik said PharmaOS, the centre’s first offering, includes more than 35 AI agents and software accelerators designed to automate tasks such as reviewing clinical study reports, checking regulatory compliance and assessing manufacturing batch-release readiness.
The company claims its platform can help customers develop and validate an AI-based workflow within a week, provided the business requirements, necessary data and scope of work have been agreed upon.
It did not provide details of customers that have completed the process or independently verified performance results.
The platform is built on Altimetrik’s ALTi AIOS framework and is designed to work with AI models and services from technology companies including Google, Anthropic and OpenAI.
According to the company, the system incorporates data traceability, security controls and human oversight to address regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
“Enterprises want AI that delivers meaningful outcomes, and in healthcare and life sciences, that means engineering solutions that are grounded in industry context, regulatory requirements and trusted data,” said Altimetrik CEO Raj Sundaresan.
The company said the centre would bring together software engineers and life sciences specialists to develop applications for pharmaceutical companies and contract research organisations.
Hyderabad was selected because of its established pharmaceutical industry and availability of technology, clinical research and regulatory professionals, it added.
The new centre is part of Altimetrik’s existing Hyderabad office, which employs more than 300 people. The company did not disclose the investment involved in establishing the facility or whether it plans to recruit additional employees.
Altimetrik’s Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences, Ramji Vasudevan, said the company intends to help customers develop AI applications while maintaining compliance and human accountability.
The Hyderabad opening follows Altimetrik’s expansion in Pune. The company said its global workforce has crossed 11,000 employees.
Altimetrik, which provides digital engineering, cloud, data and technology modernisation services, received a majority investment from private equity firm TPG in 2024. It subsequently expanded its technology services business through the acquisition of Bengaluru-based SLK Software in 2025.
