Effective city management is key

D. Haritha, Managing Director, Tirupati Smart City Corporation, said that the city, known for its significant religious tourism, receives a large number of daily visitors. Effective city management is thus crucial for ensuring the comfort, efficiency, and safety of both residents and tourists.

“Tirupati is home to one of the most sought after pilgrimage destinations in the country, attracting up to 80,000 visitors each day. Managing this kind of footfall while ensuring the highest order of comfort, efficiency, and safety for all is a mission-critical task,” D. Haritha said.

Traffic management is another focal point of the Smart City project. An Intelligent Traffic Management System is slated for deployment to manage traffic flow, mitigate congestion during peak hours, and aim to reduce road accidents.
