eGovernance firm Innowave IT achieve CMMI Level 5 certification

Mumbai-based IT solution firm that focus on intervention of technology in government departments, infrastructure said that it has successfully received CMMI level 5 certification in the Development & Services category. Arguably becoming the first niche player from India in the e-governance space to have achieved the milestone. Innowave IT received PCMM level 3 certification couple of years back.

Level 5 companies are ones that have a set development process, quality adherence with clearly defined responsibilities to team members, a well-maintained project tracking tool along with constant innovation and optimization to eliminate defects in the development process. A critical distinction between maturity level 4 & maturity level 5, is the type of process variation addressed. Effect of deployed process improvements are measured and evaluated against quantitative process-improvement objectives continually.

Recently, the company has won a Rs 25 crore e-governance project from ‘s Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in consortium with local partner. The company had informed that the new deal is for implementing IT solutions for improving KCCA capacity to implement sub-projects within stipulated timelines, strengthening the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which will include integration of the platform for payment of bills and purchasers feedback.
