“Jeremy brings deep experience across cloud platforms and regional markets, which will be important as organisations in Asia Pacific and Japan look to unify their data and AI capabilities,” Puthussery said.

Cooper said his focus would be on working with customers and partners across Asia Pacific and Japan as companies seek to extract more value from data amid growing adoption of AI tools.

The appointment follows a series of senior hires by Databricks as it competes with established cloud and data platform providers for enterprise customers in fast-growing Asian markets.
