The last date to apply for SSC CHSL 2018 examination ends on December 18, 2017. The exam is scheduled to take place between March 4 to 26, 2018.

The last date to apply for 2018 examination ends on December 18, 2017. Last month, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has started the process for accepting the online application for Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2017Every year, SSC conducts CHSL exam to shortlist candidates for the recruitment to various posts of postal assistant (PA), sorting assistant (SA), data entry operator (DEO), lower divisional clerk (LDC) and court clerk (CC).

SSC CHSL 2018 examination will have three parts – Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier -3 (typing/skill test). The SSC CHSL 2018 Tier-1 exam will be held from March 4 to March 26, 2018 and Tier 2 exam is scheduled to be conducted on July 8, 2018. The candidates who pass the preliminary exam (Tier-1) will be allowed to appear in main examination (Tier-2). The candidates who qualify in Tier-2 exam will be called for the interview round. Some of them may also have to go through a skill test or typing test before being recommended for appointment.

The minimum qualifications to appear in this exam is Class 12th passed from recognised board. The age of the candidate should be between 18 years and 27 years as on August 1, 2018. Age relaxation is permitted to candidates from reserved, ex-servicemen and people with special needs category.

For SSC CHSL 2018, pay scale has been revised. So, now Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) will come under a pay band of Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1900 (pre-revised). Similarly, Postal Assistant (PA) / Sorting Assistant (SA) pay band will be Rs. 5200-20200 and Grade Pay will be Rs. 2400 (pre-revised). For Data Entry Operator (DEO), Pay Band has been fixed at Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 2400 (pre-revised). Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A' Pay Band is Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 2400 (pre-revised).

Under SSC CHSL 2018, government tentatively aims to fill 898 vacancies for the posts of LDC/ JSA, 2359 of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and 2 DEO and there is no vacancy for Data Entry Operator under Grade ‘A'.

SSC CHSL 2018 Tier-2 Exam: July 8, 2018

Steps to apply for SSC CHSL 2018

Step 1: Go to official website of the SSC – ssc.nic.in.

Step 2: On home page, click on the ‘apply' in top menu

Step 3: It will take you to application page.

Step 4: If you are already registered with the SCC, then you can directly fill the details and apply, else you will have to first register online with SSC.

Step 5: Fill all the details correctly, attached relevant pics and digital signature

Step 6: Make the payment for application, it is done via SBI online. Check if you are eligible for fee concession. Candidates from SC/ST/ and women need not to pay anything.

Step 7: After making the payment submit your application and save a copy for future references.
