Jharkhand JAC Results 2017: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) continues to see significant dip in pass percentage of students. JAC today announced the results for Class 10th at its official website jac.nic.in. The pass percentage of Class 10th student have gone down from 71.20% in 2015 to 57.91% in 2017. There is continuous dip in students performance since last three year.

The JAC made the results announcement in a press conference held in Ranchi today. The pass percentage of the student have gone down compared to last year. This year only 57.91% students could passed Class 10th examinations. Last year the pass percentage was 67.54%.

According to reports, over 4 lakh students have appeared for the Class 10 regular exam. The exams were held from February 18, 2017 to March 1, 2017.

The pass percentage for Class 10 dipped from 71.20% in 2015 to 67.54% in 2016 and now it has gone to 57.91%. In intermediate science, the pass percentage dipped from 64.57% in 2015 to 58.36% in 2016. For commerce stream as well the pass percentage dipped from 74.18% in 2015 to 62.94% last year. The JAC is expecting to improve the this year. Since 2003 there has not been any great improvement in overall pass percentage of students.

In the past JAC exams have been marred by controversy. Although, the board took adequate measure to ensure free, fair and smooth examinations but few cases of students using unfair means and paper leaks were reported.

Jharkhand Academic Council was set up by the Jharkhand State Legislature in December 2003, after state was bifurcated from Bihar. Its prime responsibility is to conduct examinations for Intermediate, Secondary , Sanskrit Education and Madrasa Education. The board also prescribe courses of studies and recommend recognition of intermediate educational institutions, high schools, sanskrit schools and madrasas to the state .
