IIIT Delhi student bags ₹35 lakh offer as institute reports strong placement season

IIIT Delhi records strong placement season with top tech firms offering high packages and over 340 job opportunities for students

A student from the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi, one of the capital’s leading engineering institutions, has secured a package worth ₹35 lakh per annum.

The institute, popularly known as IIIT Delhi, recently concluded its campus placement drive, with over 100 companies making around 342 job offers to students. The average annual stood at ₹12 lakh, according to an official statement.

The highest package of ₹35 lakh was offered to a BTech graduate by the ERP systems company Works Applications. The institute also reported offers of up to ₹26.5 lakh for students from the MTech stream.

Several global technology firms, including Google, Oracle and IBM, participated in the recruitment process. Other leading recruiters such as , Qualcomm, Works Applications, IBM Research, SanDisk, Directi and Adobe also made multiple offers.

Software developer top the chart

The most common job roles included software developer, research engineer, scientist, design engineer, system engineer and business analyst, IIIT Delhi said.

During the first phase of recruitment, the institute hosted several leading consulting and technology firms. The second phase saw 25 more companies visit the campus. The top offer during this phase came from Qualcomm, which offered an annual package of ₹16.5 lakh.

This was the first time the A+ category company had participated in IIIT Delhi’s placement drive, and it emerged as one of the largest recruiters of the season, making 32 offers.

“We are delighted. Our students have made us proud by securing such impressive offers from leading companies. This is a moment of joy and pride and reaffirms IIIT Delhi’s reputation and training,” said Pankaj Jalote, Director of IIIT Delhi.

IIIT Delhi MTech students received core job and internship offers

A majority of MTech students in the and Communication Engineering (ECE) stream received core job and internship offers. The placement results were as follows:

  • BTech CSE: 98.86%
  • BTech ECE: 92%
  • MTech CSE: 92.45%
  • MTech ECE: 93.75%

“The Information Technology and IT-enabled services sectors continue to grow, creating new opportunities in software and hardware development, technology consulting and software management,” added Prof Jalote.
