He said: “Bangladesh is moving forward by fulfilling all the conditions to become a developing country despite the Corona epidemic.”

Vision 2021 is being implemented in all areas of the country through the efficient use of information and communication technology.

He made the remarks while participating in an online discussion at the Digital Talent Regional Summit titled ‘Cultivating a Talent Ecosystem for Inclusive Digital Prosperity’ organized by Huawei today.

Also present as speakers at the summit were Jayant de Silva, Secretary, Ministry of Technology, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and Hari Prasad Bashyal, Secretary, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Nepal.

At the Summit, BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Satya Prasad Majumder, Head of Office and UNESCO Representative in Bangladesh Beatrice Kaldun shared their important views.

At the summit, State Minister for Bangladesh Junaid Ahmed Palak said the country’s current information and communication technology sector revenue is 1 billion. Bangladesh ranks second in the world in freelancing.

To make the country’s IT sector more prosperous, 39 high-tech parks are being set up across the country.

Specialized labs are being set up in 135 universities across the country to make students proficient in frontier technology in the face of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

In addition, 64 Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers are being set up to build skilled manpower in the technology sector.
