:  Towards a new dimension to technological development innovation and research is key in the market. This was stated by the speakers at the Walton Research and Innovation Summit-2021.

The day-long summit was held at Walton Hi-Tech Industries in Chandra, Gazipur under the slogan ‘Srishti Sukher Ullase’. This information was given in a notification sent by the company.

The summit saw Walton’s unprecedented progress in the domestic technology manufacturing industry, the use of new technologies in product production, research, and innovation activities, and the exchange of knowledge (knowledge sharing).

The conference was attended by and experts from the country’s engineering and technology sectors, as well as about a thousand engineers working at Walton.

The ribbon-cutting summit was inaugurated by prominent Bangladeshi writer and academician Prof. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, BRAC University Distinguished Professor and Kaikobad, Vice Chairman SM Shamsul Alam, and Managing Director and CEO Golam Murshed.

Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said, ‘I have dreamed all my life that there will be a full-fledged research and innovation center in Bangladesh. That dream has been fulfilled today through Walton. There are challenges in research and innovation. ‘

Dr. Kaikobad said, “When I come to Walton factory, my chest filled with pride. The people of Bangladesh have technical skills. Walton has further improved that skill. With the export of Walton products, the technical image of Bangladesh in the world is getting brighter. The country’s engineers and science students are getting job opportunities here. Being able to express their talent. As a Bangladeshi, I am proud that we have an industry like Walton.”

SM Shamsul Alam said: “Walton has created a field of work for the country’s talented engineers. Rapid development is possible only if we can retain and utilize the country’s talent. Walton’s talented engineers have been making significant contributions in this field.”

Addressing the young engineers of Walton, Ghulam Murshed said that Walton workers know how to dream and know how to work. Each of us has a purpose in being born in this country. Which must be selfish.

The convener of the conference, Engineer Tapas Kumar Majumder, Walton’s Chief Research and Innovation Officer, said Walton is moving forward with the goal of becoming one of the best brands by 2030. The heads of the research and innovation department of various products of Walton have given details about the roadmap of research and innovation in the implementation of that goal. The purpose of the summit was to inform everyone about the technical research and development of Walton products.
