Bangladesh: 15-day BSIC online product fair kick-off

Dhaka — The 15-day BSIC Online Product Fair 2021 has started for the third time in Kushtia. The virtual inauguration of the online fair on Saturday, said BSCIC chairman Mushtaq Hasan, Deputy General Manager of Kushtia District Office of BSCIC Engineer, Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Islam was present at the function conducted by Solaiman Hossain.

The inaugural ceremony of the fair was also attended by Kushtia District Council Chairman and of Kushtia Chamber of Commerce Haji Mohammad Rabiul Islam, BSIC Regional Director () Kazi Mahbubur Rashid, BSIC General Manager () Akhil Ranjan Tarafdar and Women and E-Commerce (WI) President Nasima Akter Nisha.

The fair, which started online on Saturday (August 8), will run until August 22.

After inaugurating the 15-day online fair, the BSCIC chairman distributed prizes among the winners of the second online fair and handed over registration certificates to 15 entrepreneurs. Later, the BSIC chairman planted trees at the Kushtia BSIC office as part of the celebration of MujibBarsha and National Mourning Day.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the fair, BSCIC Chairman Mushtaq Hasan said, “BSIC is the only entrepreneur created by Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”

At the crossroads of the nation in the Corona epidemic, BSIC has emphasized online fairs to keep the country’s industrial and commercial activities going, so that entrepreneurs can easily market their products, he added.

BSIC chairman at the end of the fair Mushtaq Hasan visited the Alauddin Nagar area of Kumarkhali as a possible site for setting up BSIC Industrial Park on 500 acres of land in Kushtia. The local entrepreneurs and businessmen were with him at the time.
