Digital Bangladesh: 303 digital services of Ministry of Culture launched

Dhaka: With the technical assistance of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), 303 digitization services of the Ministry of Culture were inaugurated under the ‘ Rapid Digitization' system.

The state minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Wednesday inaugurated the service as the chief guest at the Begum Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the National Museum in Shahbag.

The State Minister for Culture KM Khalid presided over the function.

In his keynote address on the occasion, State Minister for ICT Palak said: “'s economic growth is one of the fastest-growing in the world. It has been possible to hold 5.24 %.”

Apart from this, in 19 months of the Corona period, everything including education, health, agriculture, trade and commerce, administration, and the judiciary was in operation.

He said that since the introduction of the e-document system in 2016 under the direction of Sajib Wazed Joy, more than 2 crore electronics file management systems have been completed. During the pandemic period, millions of officials in various offices used electronic file management systems.

Hundreds of crores of money have been saved through this, time and harassment has been saved and no administrative work was stopped in the lockdown, he said.

The state minister further said that the ICT department would provide all possible assistance including digitization of 73 libraries in the country under the Ministry of Culture, digitization of Central Archives at a cost of over Tk 300 crore, and digitization of Bangla Academy, the beacon of our culture and heritage.

Speaking on the occasion, State Minister for Culture KM Khalid said that out of all the ministries/divisions that have been digitized under the MyGov Rapid Digitization Platform, the highest number of services (303) of the Ministry-based Ministry of Culture has been digitized. From this, it is understood how wide is the scope and scope of work of the Ministry of Culture.

He said that out of 17 departments under the ministry, digitization of 10 departments has been completed. With the completion of the rapid digitization of the remaining 7 organizations, the number of digitized services of the Ministry of Culture will increase a lot more.

KM Khalid said the benefits of have reached every household under the able, strong and visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the advice and guidance of Sajib Wazed Joy, the architect of Digital Bangladesh.

The state minister said that just as we do not understand the value of taking free oxygen from the air, many people are not able to understand the importance and significance of digital Bangladesh implemented in it.

NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, Department of Information and Communication Technology, , Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Dewan Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Project Director, A2i, among others, spoke on the occasion.
