Dhaka — Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury has inaugurated an online hearing at the Land Revenue Court on Thursday. He inaugurated the event by appearing as the chief guest in the conference room of the ministry today.
Chowdhury said, ‘Land service in the palm of one’s hand’ is no longer just a slogan, it is a reality. Introducing an online hearing system in the Land Revenue Court will reduce the harassment and suffering of the people as well as save time.
He said: “the online hearing system has been launched with the aim of building a technology-based modern and sustainable land revenue judicial system with a view to efficient, transparent, accountable and people-friendly land management. The people will be able to take part in the hearing of the land case sitting at home.
Calling on all to register to pay land development tax online, the minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will soon officially launch several more land services including an online LD tax system.
He further said that the result of the election manifesto of ‘Digital Bangladesh‘ of 2008 is the digital Bangladesh of today’s reality.
Land Secretary Chairman of the Land Appeal Board, among others, was present at the meeting chaired by Mostafizur Rahman.
Mashiur Rahman, Chairman of the Land Reform Board, Mostafa Kamal, Director General of the Department of Land Records and Survey, Taslimul Islam, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Land Pradeep Kumar Das and Muhammad Salehuddin.
Also, all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, and local stakeholders participated in the inaugural function through video conferencing.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj and the President of the Chapainawabganj District Bar Association expressed their hope for the positive impact of the online hearing in the land court at the field level.
