The State-owned broadcaster Bangladesh Television (BTV) app has come up with the facility to watch four channels including Bangladesh Television on mobile applications.

Dhaka — The State-owned broadcaster Television (BTV) app has come up with the facility to watch four channels including Bangladesh Television on mobile applications.

The free app can be downloaded from Google Play Store to Android mobile and from App Store to iPhone. BTV, BTV World, BTV Chittagong, and Sangsad Bangladesh Television — all four channels can be watched with this app.

Information and Broadcasting Minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, Hasan Mahmud while inaugurating the app in the conference room of the ministry said that the facility of watching Bangladesh television on mobile from any part of the world through the app is the beginning of a new era for the country's state broadcaster and another people-oriented example of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's .

Director-General of Bangladesh Television-BTV Sohrab Hossain, Director General of Sangsad Bangladesh Television Abeda Akhter, Deputy Director General (Program) Dr. Syeda Tasmina Ahmed, and other officials was present on the occasion.

Dr. Hasan said: “Today, electronic media is playing an important role in projecting the image of the society, creating people's minds, and nurturing our culture and heritage, the journey of which started in the hands of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina.”

After taking over as the Prime Minister for the first time in 1996, the journey of private television in the country was under his leadership. Since then, 34 satellite channels have been broadcasting, with 11 more waiting.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said: the broadcasting of televisions has brought about huge changes in the world of media and created huge opportunities.

He said that millions of people are making a living by being directly and indirectly associated with television channels.

Private television channels are also making a significant contribution to the country's economy.

He requested all the television channels to make all the programs with the aim that our new generation can become convinced of the combination of talent, values, affection, and patriotism.

Apart from state-owned BTV, BTV World, BTV Chittagong, and Sangsad BTV are currently broadcasting, he said.
