Dhaka — The Walton, a Bangladeshi multinational technology company, will lead the world by 2041, the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, adding that the government would provide all kinds of policy assistance.
The minister was addressing as the chief guest at a declaration program titled ‘Walton Laptop Stay Home Offer at Walton E-Plaza’ on Monday.
Palak said, “The way Japan, South Korea and China are leading the digital economy in the world, our Walton Digitech will lead the digital world by 2041.”
Sony, Toshiba of Japan; Samsung, LG of Korea is leading the world today. We can build Walton to lead the world by 2041. We are ready to provide policy support to the government for that, he added.
The state minister further said, in his speech that the government is always working for the expansion of domestic institutions. In order to make local products a priority in the country, this issue is taken up in the annual budget.
He said, “Every year in the budget, new strategies are identified and we are always on the side to ensure that our locally produced products get priority.” This time too we exchanged views with the Chairman of the NBR. We have given them the necessary letters so that we can give priority to domestic products.
Mentioning that the My Village My City program announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is being implemented so that a citizen can get all the modern facilities of the city while sitting in the village, he stressed the joint efforts of all to build a self-reliant digital Bangladesh with their own products and innovations.
