Bangladesh ICT sector expanding like RMG industry: MA Mannan

Dhaka: The Planning Minister MA Mannan said the sector in our country is expanding just like the garment industry. The government is making the way for many opportunities to the ICT sector for the development of this promising sector.

At the Bangladesh Hitech Park on Thursday (September 30th) officially allotted plots to Bangabandhu Hitech City, seven zones in Kaliakair Industrial Zone, and two in Software Technology Park by formally signing a land transfer agreement at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.

Planning Minister MA Mannan said this while addressing a function as the chief guest on the occasion. The 9 companies allotted plots will invest 55 million as well as it will create employment for about 300 people.

Halima Telecom was also formally handed over the license to declare a private software technology park.

Planning Minister MA Mannan said modern society has been built through modern and technology. From the beginning, we are proud of the garments industry. Because of the cheap labour, the garment industry of the country developed rapidly abroad. At present, the ICT sector of our country is expanding like the garment industry.

Addressing the Walton Company, the Minister said, “Many products are being produced in your factory.” You will always be aware of the quality of the product. We need to be quality conscious. Congratulations to everyone signed up here today. The private sector needs to move forward with more investment in the ICT sector. If necessary, investors need to be given more security.
