SSC MTS Paper Leak 2017; Here’s new exam date, exam analysis, SSC MTS answer key 2017

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) found MTS Exam 2017 papers to be compromised. Hence, it cancelled the MTS Exam 2017 of afternoon shift which was held on April 30, 2017. Since then no new date has been announced for the re-exam.

On the day of exam, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) found papers to be compromised. Hence, it cancelled the MTS Exam 2017 of afternoon shift which was held on April 30, 2017. Since then no new date has been announced for the re-exam. According to a statement from SSC, “The re-examination for only those candidates who appeared in this shift will be held in due course and the candidates would be suitably informed.

Earlier in a statement SSC said that the afternoon paper of MTS Exam 2017 was found to be compromised, therefore the commission has cancelled the exam. The re-exam date has not yet been notified. Due to large number of applications, SSC MTS exams are being held in two shifts – morning and evening. According to reports, more than 70 lakh candidates have registered for SSC MTS Examination 2017.

On April 30, 2017, before commencement of morning shift exams, the question paper with key was found circulating on social media. Neetu Singh, director of KD Campus, coaching institution, uploaded some images of the question papers on her Facebook page and asked the students if this was the paper they received in the first shift which was held in morning between 10 am – 12 am shifts. Initially, students couldn't confirm. However, the paper turned out to be the same question paper that was distributed in 2nd shift, from 2 pm – 4 pm. Singh in her Facebook page has urged the SSC and Prime Minister Office (PMO) to address the issue and take concrete actions against the culprits.

For selecting the select junior staff in central government departments MTS exams are conducted. After a long time, due to Supreme Court direction, these exams were announced. Candidates who have passed matriculation examination or equivalent from a recognised board are eligible for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (Non Technical).

So far question papers and answer keys for the morning shift which was conducted on April 30, 2017 have been uploaded by independent coaching centres. Since the evening shift exams on the same day were cancelled due to paper leak. So, the questions and answer keys will become redundant. Government will announce the new date for the exam very soon.

Apart from Sunday exam, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting MTS Exam 2017 on four more dates – May 14th and 28th, June 4th and 11 June.

MTS Exam 2017 are being conducted in offline mode and candidates are allowed to take the question paper home. Hence, once answers key is out, they can guess their performance and chances of selection. These exams have two papers – paper 1 and paper 2.

Currently, SSC is conducting exam for paper 1, exams for paper 2 will be held later this year on December 17, 2017. According to reports, SSC is likely to release the answer keys for MTS 2017 written test after the completion of last paper on June 11, 2017.

Some of the report suggested that that paper's level was easy, which in turn may increase the cut off. Quantitative aptitude section was easy to solve. Two questions were asked from bar graph, two questions each from topics of Time and work, SI & CI, average and partnership, and percentage. Around twelve questions came from topics on mensuration, profit & loss, and speed distance & time.

The language English section had 50 questions and it was of moderate level. According to experts, reasoning section was easy. Analogy, Arithmetic operations, series and classification were big part.

General awareness section was of moderate level. It had ten questions from Geography, eight from Biology & Physics, Economy, Polity & computers, and current affairs had five questions each.

Selection criteria for SSC MTS 2017

According to reports, SSC will first publish the results of paper 1. Only those candidates who have qualified in paper 1 would be allowed to seat for paper 2.

Then those who appears for paper 2 will have to obtain a minimum cut off marks/qualifying marks set by SSC in order to be considered for merit. The cut off marks in paper 2 might differ from paper 1. SSC will published a merit list based on the combination of performance for paper 1 paper 2.
