Oracle OpenWorld India begins; Here’s agenda, keynote address and major announcements

With India emerging as a key epicentre of technology, Oracle is bringing its flagship conference, Oracle OpenWorld for the very first time to India in May 2017

With SMB and business booming for global technology giants in . Technology major Oracle has brought its one of the most successful annual event – Oracle OpenWorld – to India. The conference begins today in the national capital.

“With India emerging as a key epicenter of technology, Oracle is bringing its flagship conference, Oracle OpenWorld for the very first time to India in May 2017,” said an invite from company.

The two day event which starts today with the keynote address of will bring together business and technology strategists from India and the world – including Oracle customers, partners, analysts, government officials and media. “You can expect insights on how Oracle is partnering with the public sector and enterprises to build India’s digital economy,” said Oracle.

Oracle CEO Safra A. Catz will speak on the topic of “Investing in Our Future” which is likely to focus on importance of information and how every steps of digital economy revolve around ability to access, manage, share, analyse, and secure information.

“Information is still one of the key assets of any organisation. The ability to access, manage, share, analyse, and secure information, or data, is all key to building a digital economy. A digital economy is one where we move from paper based, manual systems to automated and online processes and systems. It eliminates bureaucracy and puts the power of information at the disposal of both consumers and business people to engage in whole new ways,” said Oracle.

On day two of the Oracle OpenWorld India will witness keynotes from Thomas Kurian, president – product development, Oracle. He will speak on how the company is helping fast track government initiatives like Smart Cities and Digital India.

Besides, the keynote sessions and subsequent tracks during the event, Oracle is also organising a full-fledged media agenda for the attending journalist.

Oracle OpenWorld India will be formally inaugurated by Shailender Kumar, vice president of Oracle India and he is likely to join by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis and some senior government officers.

Due to change in schedule of Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das, he is unlikely to attend today. The state yesterday signed a MoU to use Oracle Cloud for e-governance and startups.

Along with senior executives from Oracle, some experts from research firms and CIO or technology heads of big Indian companies are also likely to join the 2017.
