Dilipkumar Khandelwal to lead SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud globally

Khandelwal will have a global responsibility for the deployment of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. He will also continue in his current role as the Managing Director of SAP Labs India

German enterprise solution giant SAP has named Dilipkumar Khandelwal as President of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. He will to , member of the executive board, SAP SE, products & innovation. Khandelwal who currently heads SAP Labs India as managing director will continue to lead SAP R&D efforts in India.

“Dilip will have a global responsibility for the deployment of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud and will oversee its adoption and customer success. He will also continue in his current role as the Managing Director of SAP Labs India,” said a statement from SAP.

The SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is a private service. The cloud service hosts SAP Business Suite software, which includes SAP HANA custom and out-of-the box applications and SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse software on a single instance of the SAP HANA in-memory database platform.

With most of the ERP companies pushing for cloud based solutions, over the past few years, SAP has started putting more emphasis on cloud based solutions. However, multiple reports suggest that the earning from cloud is still not at par with on-premise deployment for most of the traditional tech firms including SAP.

In first quarter of 2017, SAP has announced €5.29 billion revenue, of which €906 million (17% of total) was for cloud subscription and support. Company has witnessed a growth of 49%  in new cloud bookings. “My focus will be to use our unparalleled cloud expertise to drive the digital transformation of our customers,” said  Khandelwal.

Khandelwal has been with SAP for over 16 years and has held leadership positions across SAP’s technology and business portfolios. As MD of SAP Labs India, he has been instrumental in driving innovation through the product lines and establishing SAP Labs India as a leading center of innovation across SAP’s R&D ecosystem.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Bombay University and an executive MBA from ISB.
