Delhi Police Constable Recruitment: SSC not to insist on OBC certificate for Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2016

SSC which conducts Delhi Police Constable Recruitment Exam for Delhi Police has decided not to insist upon the candidates to produce OBC Certificates for Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2016.

: Keeping in view the difficulties faced by the candidates, which conducts Delhi Constable Recruitment for Delhi Police has decided not to insist upon the candidates to produce OBC Certificates issued within the cut off dates between October 11, 2013 and April 8, 2017 for Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2016. The SSC will instead rely on the existing proof of being OBC of a candidates to process their claim under the OBC category, however the candidature will remain provisional subject to verification of the claim by Delhi Police, said SSC.

As per the notification issued earlier for Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2016, the candidates were required to submit OBC certificate, containing non-creamy layer status issued between October 11, 2013 and April 8, 2017 but many of candidates could not do so within the specified time. SSC said, “It was observed by the Commission that the candidates were facing difficulties in producing the OBC Certificates in the prescribed format within the cut-off date specified in the notices. Some of the candidates had also challenged the above provisions in various Courts. Keeping in view the difficulties faced by the candidates, SSC has decided not to insist on OBC certificate.”

SCC has also decided to consider those candidates whose candidature were not considered by the Delhi Police during the conduct of PST/PE&MT on the grounds of not having valid OBC Certificate. Now, those candidates can request to SSC to confirm as to whether they are inclined to attend PST/PE&MT to be conducted shortly by the Delhi Police in case they have prima facie proof of being OBC, so as to process their claim under the OBC category.

The last date for updating above information is September 10, 2017 till 5.00 PM failing which their requests will not be considered by the Delhi Police and the SSC. Candidate can go to http://ssconline.nic.in/dpconstable/ to intimate the SSC.
