SSC MTS 2017: Staff Selection Commission releases SSC MTS Exam pattern 2017

Staff Selection Commission has released the examination patterns for SSC MTS 2017. The computer based exam will be held from September 16 to October 26.

Candidates will be tested on general intelligence & reasoning, numerical aptitude, general English, general awareness. Each of these subjects have been equal weight of 25 marks. The total number of marks would be 100. The duration of exam would be 90 minutes for general candidates and 120 minutes for visually handicapped, cerebral palsy candidates.

As per SSC rules, Orthopedically handicapped candidates (other than a candidate afflicted by cerebral palsy) who have a locomotor disability (40% or more) wherein the dominant writing extremity is affected to the extent of slowing down the performance of the candidate (such deficiency to be indicated in the medical certificate submitted by the candidate) are also allowed compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour.

In a notification today, SSC said “Candidates may refer to the commission’s notice dated 23.5.2017 regarding Multi Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) Examination, 2016 (Paper-I), which was uploaded on the website of the Commission, intimating the cancellation of the examination for all five days i.e. 30.4.2017, 14.5.2017, 28.5.2017, 4.6.2017 and 11.6.2017. The Commission has decided to conduct the re-examination of Multi Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) Examination, 2016 (Paper-I) from 16.9.2017 to 26.10.2017 in the Computer Based Mode.”

SSC has clarified that there is no change with regard to maximum marks and negative marking given in the original notice of examination for Paper-I.

Earlier, to familiar candidates with computer based examination system, SSC had put a practice test for computer based examination on its website. As per the SSC MTS 2017 exam patterns, SSC will first publish the results of paper 1. Only those candidates who have qualified in paper 1 would be allowed to seat for paper 2. Then those who would appear for paper 2 will have to obtain a minimum cut off marks/qualifying marks set by SSC in order to be considered for merit.
