- Provigil Surveillance wins ₹3.16 crore CCTV contract from DFCCIL for freight corridor
- Five-year contract covers Western Dedicated Freight Corridor surveillance systems
- Installation and commissioning to be completed within 90 days of order
Provigil Surveillance Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Magellanic Cloud Limited, has secured a contract worth ₹3.16 crore from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) to provide CCTV surveillance solutions across sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), the company announced on Friday (23 October).
The five-year contract, awarded by DFCCIL’s office of the Chief General Manager in Jaipur, will operate on an OPEX model, meaning the company will own and maintain the equipment while DFCCIL pays for the service over the contract period rather than purchasing the infrastructure outright, according to the company’s stock exchange filing.
Under the scope of work, Provigil will supply, install, test and commission CCTV surveillance systems at designated manned and unmanned locations along the freight corridor. The project also includes integration of existing cameras and deployment of centralised monitoring and video analytics capabilities, the company said.
Installation and commissioning are to be completed within 90 days from the Letter of Acceptance, followed by operation and maintenance for five years.
Freight corridor expansion
DFCCIL is responsible for building and operating dedicated freight corridors across India, with the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor running approximately 1,500 kilometres from Dadri in Uttar Pradesh to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in Mumbai. The corridor is designed to carry freight traffic separately from passenger trains, enabling faster goods movement across the country.
The surveillance contract forms part of ongoing efforts to secure railway infrastructure along the corridor, which handles significant volumes of container and bulk cargo traffic.
“This order represents a significant opportunity for Provigil and further strengthens the Company’s presence in the railway, transportation and critical infrastructure surveillance segment,” the company said in its filing to BSE and the National Stock Exchange.
The contract is in the ordinary course of business for Provigil, which provides integrated surveillance, telecommunications and security infrastructure solutions, according to the announcement. The subsidiary will handle both the technology deployment and ongoing system maintenance over the contract period.
Magellanic Cloud Limited, formerly known as South India Projects Limited, is listed on both BSE and NSE under the scrip code MCLOUD. The Hyderabad-headquartered company operates in surveillance and security infrastructure through its subsidiary.
