Oracle and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership to integrate Google’s Gemini models into Oracle’s enterprise application suite, a move that will give tens of thousands of business customers access to advanced AI capabilities within their existing workflows.

The announcement, made on Friday (31 July), will bring Gemini models to Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, a development platform that allows organisations to build, deploy and manage AI-powered automation tools. The integration will also extend to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications and Oracle NetSuite, the company’s cloud-based enterprise resource planning platform used by more than 44,000 customers across 220 countries.

The partnership builds on existing access to Gemini models through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Enterprise AI, which allows developers to tap into Google’s large language models via Oracle’s cloud platform. The new integration goes further by embedding Gemini directly into the business applications that organisations use daily for finance, human resources, supply chain and customer management.

Customers will be able to access Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, a model designed for price-efficient performance on routine tasks, and Gemini 3.5 Flash for more complex operations including video and presentation creation. These models will sit alongside offerings from other AI providers within Oracle’s platform, giving customers a choice of which model to deploy for specific use cases.

“To achieve the best business outcomes, organisations need the flexibility to choose the AI model best suited to each problem,” said Chris Leone, executive vice president for applications development at Oracle. “By bringing Gemini to Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications, we are giving customers and partners greater choice as they build and extend agents and agentic applications that reason through complex, real-world business challenges.”

Agentic applications refer to AI systems that can perform multi-step tasks autonomously, making decisions and taking actions without constant human supervision. For example, an agentic application in a finance might automatically match invoices, flag discrepancies and initiate approval workflows.

Satish Thomas, vice president at Google Cloud, said the partnership was designed to help organisations use Gemini in their existing workflows. “Our expanded partnership with Oracle is designed to make it easier for organisations to use Gemini in the applications and agentic workflows they rely on to automate workflows, accelerate decisions, and drive outcomes,” Thomas said.

Kevin Ichhpurani, president of global partner ecosystem at Google Cloud, described the integration as bringing AI “directly where business decisions happen”. The comments reflect Google’s broader strategy of embedding its AI models into enterprise software platforms where businesses already operate, rather than requiring them to adopt entirely new tools.

Oracle also confirmed plans to use Gemini models for embedded AI capabilities within NetSuite, its platform popular with mid-sized businesses. The company said it would deploy Gemini where it could deliver optimal price-performance for specific customer scenarios.

“AI is at the core of how customers use and experience NetSuite and choosing the right model for the right use case is critical to helping them get more value from AI,” said Evan Goldberg, founder and executive vice president at Oracle NetSuite. “As we evaluate various AI use cases in NetSuite, we are working with leading large language models, like Google’s Gemini, to help customers improve visibility, automate work, and move from insight to action within NetSuite.”

Enterprise AI competition intensifies

The partnership comes as major technology vendors compete to embed capabilities into enterprise software. Microsoft has integrated its Copilot AI assistant across its Office and business applications, while Salesforce has rolled out Einstein AI features throughout its customer relationship management platform. Oracle’s approach of offering multiple AI models, rather than relying on a single provider, positions it as a vendor-neutral platform that can adapt as the AI model landscape evolves.

For Indian enterprises using Oracle Fusion or NetSuite, the integration means access to Gemini’s capabilities without switching platforms or undertaking separate AI implementation projects. This is particularly relevant for organisations that have invested heavily in Oracle’s ecosystem and want to add AI capabilities without disrupting existing workflows.

Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications include modules for enterprise resource planning, human capital management, supply chain management and customer experience. The platform competes with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Workday in the enterprise applications market.
