Key Points
- Verdant Impact targets ₹100 crore revenue by March 2026 while staying profitable
- Startup claims 8X revenue growth since previous funding round in March 2025
- Company has served over 6 lakh farmers with livestock management technology
Jaipur-based Verdant Impact, a startup using artificial intelligence to improve cattle genetics and dairy farm productivity, has raised $3 million (about ₹25 crore) in seed funding to expand its technology platform across India.
Unicorn India Ventures led the round, with participation from Infynyte Club, angel investors Yash Kotak and Alok Soni, and a-IDEA NAARM, the agribusiness incubator at the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management in Hyderabad.
The company works with dairy farmers to monitor livestock health, track genetic data and improve milk production using software tools and connected devices. It has served over 6 lakh farmers to date.
How the funds will be used
Verdant Impact will deploy the capital for team expansion and deeper market penetration in North and North-East India, where dairy farming is a primary livelihood for millions of households.
The startup will also invest in research and development, upgrade its Pashu AI platform, which uses machine learning to analyse cattle health data and recommend interventions, and integrate blockchain technology. Blockchain creates a tamper-proof digital record; in this context, it would allow genetic data and health histories of individual animals to be tracked and verified across their lifetime.
The company claims it achieved 8X revenue growth since its previous funding round in March 2025 and aims to reach ₹100 crore in revenues by March 2026 while remaining profitable.
Products transforming livestock management
Verdant Impact recently launched two products aimed at small and medium dairy farmers.
Pashu AI is a software platform that monitors livestock health, tracks genetic diversity across herds and provides farm management recommendations. Farmers can use it to identify which animals are likely to produce healthier offspring or detect early signs of disease.
Bharat Pashudhan is a hardware device using IoT, or the Internet of Things, which refers to physical sensors that collect data and transmit it over the internet. The device enables real-time monitoring of herd health and location.
The startup also runs what it calls India Methane Mission, a programme aimed at reducing methane emissions from cattle. Dairy cows produce methane during digestion; reducing these emissions can generate carbon credits, which are tradeable certificates representing verified reductions in greenhouse gas output. Verdant aims to enable 8 million dairy farmers to participate in carbon credit mechanisms.
Verdant Impact Kisaan Radio
To reach farmers in rural areas, the company operates Kisaan Radio and an OTT streaming service with agricultural content.
Manish Kumar, founder and chief executive of Verdant Impact, said the funding would accelerate research into climate-resilient cattle genetics.
“We’ve proven that profitability and social impact can go hand-in-hand,” Kumar said. “Our vision is to create a future where every farmer has access to world-class technology to improve their livestock’s health, productivity and resilience to climate change.”
Anil Joshi, managing partner at Unicorn India Ventures, said climate change was affecting India’s food supply chain and livestock productivity.
“To see deep tech and IoT capabilities being leveraged to improve the quality of livestock and monitoring their health is a groundbreaking move to enhance milk production,” Joshi said. “India’s agri and livestock sector needs AI and IoT enabled services to improve yield to healthier animals.”
