Oppo said a central feature of the partnership is Mind Space, a new app on the Find X9 Series smartphones that helps users collect and organise information on their devices.

With a three-finger swipe, users can save text, images or web pages to a single location, where the app automatically categorises the content.

Google Gemini integration across Oppo apps

The company said it has worked with Google to connect Mind Space with the Gemini AI assistant. This allows users to take actions using content stored in Mind Space while controlling what data Gemini can access.

For example, the company said users could save travel notes and then ask Gemini to create an itinerary based on the stored information.

In addition to Mind Space, Oppo said users will be able to use Gemini within the Find X9 Series to interact with other Oppo applications, share on-screen content for assistance, or edit photos using Gemini’s new image editing model called Nano Banana.

Gemini Live will enable users to ask questions about what appears on their screens or through the camera. According to Oppo, the tool can provide visual guidance by highlighting elements directly on the screen.

The Nano Banana model allows users to enhance images or make creative edits using text prompts.

Oppo said data protection is a core part of the collaboration. The companies are using Oppo AI Private Computing Cloud, which runs on Google Cloud’s confidential computing services.

The setup is designed to ensure that data used for AI processing is encrypted and inaccessible to third parties, including Oppo itself.

AI functions such as Mind Space, AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder and AI Writer will operate within this framework, the company said.

The full range of features will debut on the Oppo Find X9 Series running ColorOS 16. Buyers of the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro will receive a three-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes expanded access to Gemini features and 2TB of cloud storage.
