NxtGen launches sovereign open agentic AI platform

The company says the platform is designed as a sovereign alternative to global AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, built entirely on open systems and hosted on NxtGen’s domestic infrastructure.

Preferred Source of Google

Homegrown NxtGen Cloud Technologies has announced the launch of “M,” an open agentic artificial intelligence platform that it claims can convert human intent into automated actions through workflow-driven processes. The company says the platform is designed as a sovereign alternative to global AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, built entirely on open systems and hosted on NxtGen’s domestic infrastructure.

According to NxtGen, “M” is not just a conversational AI but an action-oriented system capable of integrating with enterprise and consumer workflows. The company states that businesses and service providers can connect their platforms to “M,” enabling users to perform tasks such as booking medical appointments, triggering emergency services, or executing processes via text or voice commands.

Open-Source Foundation

NxtGen says the platform uses a modular architecture that selects open-source AI models based on task requirements, aiming to improve context retention and accuracy. The company claims the current version leverages Meta’s Llama 4 models for general interactions and DeepSeek’s 671B model for complex reasoning, combined with NxtGen’s proprietary middleware for functions like web search and integration.

Deployed on NxtGen’s NVIDIA H200-based infrastructure, the company asserts that “M” can handle nationwide usage while maintaining performance comparable to global AI models. NxtGen emphasises that hosting the platform domestically ensures data control, reduces reliance on foreign jurisdictions and aligns with ‘s push for self-reliance in critical technologies.

Rajgopal A S, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, NxtGen Cloud Technologies, stated that the launch demonstrates “open source and agentic AI can stand shoulder to shoulder with any frontier closed-source model.” The company says it plans to expand multilingual support to make the platform accessible to a broader user base.

Amid India’s Broader AI Expansion

The launch follows increasing efforts by Indian firms and policymakers to develop homegrown AI solutions. While global players like OpenAI, Google and Anthropic lead the generative AI market, domestic companies such as Sarvam AI and Krutrim are working on localised models catering to Indian languages and use cases.

The company’s AI portfolio includes GPU-based infrastructure from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel, providing enterprises with customisable AI deployments.

Currently in beta on and iOS, “M” is open to developers and businesses for integration. NxtGen says it aims to expand the platform’s use cases for both Indian and international markets.
