- Anaplan opens 42,000 square foot Gurugram office as its largest globally
- Facility includes first APAC Customer Experience Center for AI agent testing
- Indian enterprises Deepak Fertilizers and Hero Fincorp among platform users
Anaplan, a US-based enterprise software company that provides scenario planning tools for businesses, has opened its largest office globally in Gurugram as part of a multi-million dollar expansion into the Asia-Pacific region.
The 42,000 square foot facility, built in partnership with DLF, can accommodate up to 500 employees and houses the company’s first Customer Experience Center in APAC.
The Gurugram office brings together engineering, product development, customer support and marketing teams in a single location. Anaplan’s platform allows enterprises to model business scenarios and make planning decisions across finance, supply chain and workforce management using artificial intelligence.
Charles Gottdiener, chief executive officer, Anaplan, said the investment positions India as a strategic hub for the company’s product development and innovation. “APAC is critical to Anaplan’s growth, ongoing innovation and AI leadership,” Gottdiener said. “As enterprises across the region navigate increasing complexity, they need a decision infrastructure that allows them to move with speed, precision and confidence.”
India operations
The Gurugram teams will work on Anaplan’s global product roadmap, including what the company calls the Agentic Enterprise framework. This refers to a model where AI-powered software agents, meaning automated programmes that can perform tasks without continuous human intervention, handle routine operations across departments such as finance, human resources and sales.
The Customer Experience Center will offer enterprise clients a space to test these AI agents and explore scenario planning capabilities before deployment. Companies can simulate resource allocation decisions and assess how automated planning tools might work within their existing operations.
Sanket Deodhar, India head, Anaplan, said the Gurugram office would support product development for Indian enterprises facing complex planning requirements. “Our customers, like Deepak Fertilizers, Alkem, Daimler Commercial Vehicles, and Hero Fincorp, span a number of India’s most critical industries, reflecting the massive reach of our platform across the country’s economy,” Deodhar said.
Regional expansion
The Gurugram investment follows what Anaplan describes as rapid growth across APAC. The company said the region was its fastest growing market for net new bookings in the last fiscal year, though it did not disclose specific figures. Anaplan now employs more than 500 staff across nine APAC offices.
To support local data storage requirements, the company has established data centres in India, Indonesia and Singapore. This addresses data residency concerns that Indian enterprises and regulators have raised about cloud-based software storing information outside the country.
