Cloudera appoints tech veteran Leo Brunnick as Chief Product Officer

Cloudera has named technology industry veteran Leo Brunnick as its new Chief Product Officer strengthening company's leadership team amid growing competition in cloud data solutions.

Cloudera, the hybrid and AI platform provider, has named technology industry veteran as its new Chief Product Officer. The appointment strengthens the California-based company’s leadership team amid growing competition in cloud data solutions.

Brunnick brings three decades of technology leadership experience to Cloudera, where he will oversee product strategy and development. He joins from Naviga, where as Chief Operating Officer he managed 600 professionals across product, engineering and customer support functions.

His earlier career includes executive roles at software firm Vignette prior to its acquisition by OpenText in 2008.

Explaining his decision to join the company, Brunnick said that Cloudera uniquely addresses enterprise needs for flexible hybrid deployments combining on-premises and cloud-native data services.

The Harvard-educated executive also served as a US Marine Corps officer before transitioning to technology leadership roles.

Cloudera Charles Sansbury said: “Leo’s experience guiding high-performing teams and translating customer needs into platform excellence will be invaluable to Cloudera as we continue to lead the data, analytics, and AI markets.”

The company, known for its enterprise data cloud platform, has been expanding its AI capabilities while maintaining strong on-premises solutions – a differentiated approach in the competitive data management sector.

Brunnick’s background leading both product and engineering teams is expected to accelerate company’s innovation roadmap.
