On Monday, Facebook India’s top executives are expected to testify before a parliamentary panel chaired by senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.
According to a notice issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology is scheduled to meet on Monday to hear from representatives of Facebook India on the subject of safeguarding citizens’ rights and preventing misuse of social/online news media platforms.
Additionally, the meeting will discuss women‘s security in the digital space, particularly on social media.
According to the notice, senior officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will also testify before the panel on the same subject.
The panel has held several meetings and summoned top executives from a variety of social media platforms.
