Nagad reactivate over 10,000 accounts after scrutiny

The accounts have been reactivated after several rounds of continuous screening and intensive scrutiny in consultation with the concerned authorities.

Dhaka: Five thousand ‘Nagad’ accounts have been activated due to satisfactory after continuous screening and scrutiny. With this, 10 thousand accounts were restarted.

The information was confirmed on behalf of the ‘Nagad’ on Tuesday. The status of some accounts is automatically ‘held’ by the sophisticated technology of Nagad to ensure customer safety when signs of inconsistent transactions are observed on several e-commerce platforms.

The accounts have been reactivated after several rounds of continuous screening and intensive scrutiny in consultation with the concerned authorities.

In the same process, other accounts will be held step by step in a short period of time. In addition to expressing regret over the temporary inconvenience of the customer, Nagad advised not to listen to any rumors or propaganda in this regard.

Prior to this, on September 4, ‘Nagad’ was announced, and in a few days, a number of ‘Nagad’ customer accounts suddenly became abnormal transactions in controversial e-commerce companies.

In view of this, some accounts have been temporarily suspended due to further review and scrutiny of transaction types.

The list of accounts was handed over to the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory (BTRC), and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for the mobile Nagad‘.
