Bangladesh telecom regulator hires audit firm to scrutinise Banglalink account

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has appointed an audit firm to scrutinized private telecom operator Banglalink account and operation.

Dhaka — The Telecommunication Regulatory (BTRC) has appointed an audit firm to scrutinized private operator Banglalink account and operation.

To carry out the task, the regulator has signed an agreement with Dhaka-based leading Chartered accountancy firm Masih Muhith Haque & Co. on Tuesday.

BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder and other senior officials of Muhith Haque & Co. were present at the signing ceremony.

The audit firm will verify whether Banglalink is following the BTRC guidelines properly and whether the government has evaded revenue.

In a post on Facebook, BTRC said that the audit activities of operator Banglalink Digital Communication Limited are going to start very soon.

Earlier, the BTRC said the audit firm had been hired at a cost of Tk8,77,75000.
