Mobiles subscribers in Bangladesh increase by 12 lakhs, Grameenphone takes lead

According to the information given by BTRC, there are 17 crores 52 lakh 70 thousand mobile subscribers in the country at present.

Dhaka: The number of mobiles subscribers in the country have increased by 11 lakhs 70 thousand in May as compared to April this year. The Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has revealed this information.

According to the information given by BTRC, there are 17 crores 52 lakh 70 thousand mobile subscribers in the country at present.

Of these, has 8 crore 15 lakh 40 thousand, 5 crore 15 lakh 80 thousand, Banglalink 3 crore 63 lakh 30 thousand and 58 lakh 20 thousand.

A comparative analysis has shown that Grameenphone’s subscribers have increased by 10 lakh 30 thousand in May, Banglalink’s one lakh 40 thousand and Teletalk’s 70 thousand compared to April. Only Robi has lost customers. The company lost about 70,000 customers a month.

The BTRC said the teledensity rate in the country was 103.01 % at the end of May.
