AIIMS INI CET 2021 PG entrance exam: With Covid-19 cases exponentially increasing and healthcare infrastructure collapsing across the country, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has postponed the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) for admission to Post Graduate (PG) courses, July 2021 session till further notice.

The entrance exam for admission to MD, MS, DM, M.Ch, MDS which is organised twice a year for filling seats in PG courses in AIIMS, located at New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh was scheduled to be held on May 8.

“In view of the evolving situation related to COVID-19 outbreak, the competent authority of AIIMS has decided to postpone the conduct of following entrance examination scheduled in May 2021: INI CET PG July [MD/MS/DM (6 yrs)/M.Ch (6 yrs)/MDS)] for July 2021 session, scheduled date – May 8, 2021,” AIIMS said in a statement on Friday.

“The revised dates for the conduct of the said examination will be notified in due course of time through the website www.aiimsexams.ac.in,” the notice adds.

AIIMS is not alone in postponing the exam, many state boards including Maharashtra and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have either canceled or postponed exams in order to mitigate the challenge of growing cases of Covid-19.

Recently, CBSE and ICSE have announced to cancel Class 10th board exams and postponed class 12th board exams.

Also on Tuesday, the Maharashtra canceled the or Class 10 board examinations. State board Class 10 students will be marked on the basis of internal assessments.

“Given the worsening situation of the #, the Maharashtra government has now decided to CANCEL the state board exams for class 10th. The health & safety of our students and teachers is our topmost priority,” Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted.

Meanwhile, India reported 3,, 786 new COVID-19 cases and 2,624 related deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the government update on Saturday morning.
