Airtel targets India’s $1 billion cloud communications market with Airtel IQ

Bharti Airtel has launched a cloud-based omni-channel communications platform called ‘Airtel IQ’. With the deployment of this pay-as-you-go service, enterprises and businesses will be able to embed communication services such as voice, SMS, IVR in their applications and digital properties across desktop and mobile, all through a unified platform.

The telecom major said that companies such as , Justdial, Urban Company, Havells, Dr. Lal Path Labs and Rapido among others have signed up as customers for the new services during the beta phase itself.

The company expects a large call centre ecosystem, e-commerce and companies, start-ups, banks and those into manufacturing and distribution to be early adopters of the platform.

“Businesses are increasingly looking to cloud-based digital platforms to engage with consumers and Airtel IQ is built to raise the bar when it comes to brands delighting consumers,” said Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer, Bharti Airtel.

The company said that the cloud-based integrated platform could translate into 30-40 per cent cost reduction for enterprises as compared to traditional models.

The company said that the Airtel IQ has been fully developed by in-house engineering teams and highlights the company’s growing digital prowess to deliver world-class solutions. Currently, it has over 1500 digital talents that is pushing product like Airtel IQ. Also, the strategic investment in startups such as Waybeo has come handy for the product .

“With Airtel IQ, we have been able to deliver seamless and highly intuitive communication between all parties across our platform in a privacy contained and simplified fashion,” said Vivek Sunder, COO, Swiggy whose company has implemented the solution.

With this launch, Airtel enters into into the fast-growing cloud communications market in India which is currently pegged at $1 billion.

Airtel claimed itself to be the India’s largest player in the B2B connectivity space and serves with over one million businesses with an integrated portfolio that includes connectivity, cloud, security and collaboration and centre solutions.
