On the sideline of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s visit to Japan and meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to strengthen Indo-Japan business ties, Indian IT major Tech Mahindra signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japanese firm Rakuten Mobile Network Inc to set up laboratories in Tokyo and Bengaluru to work on software-defined network for 5G.
In this partnership, while Tech Mahindra will provide network integration capabilities to add value to the lab operations, the Rakuten will market outcoming products as a fully automated 5G ready network in the Japanese market.

Our collaboration with Rakuten will help us further drive innovation in the 5G space, and enable us to enhance customer experience and lead the transformation in mobile network technology from the forefront,” said CP Gurnani, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Tech Mahindra.
