To provide Internet in local language and break the language barrier, The National Internet exchange of India (NIXI) has started Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) in 15 Indian Languages. However, it could not take off because there was no email solution available to provide email on IDNs. Now, companies have started offering such services. Recently, Data XGen partnered with BSNL to offer email address and domain services in Indian languages.

Data XGen claims that it is one of the first company in India to offer linguistic email address service in Indian languages, offering Email Address Internatilization solution on IDNs and every corporate who is trying to address large part of India can avail this facility.
“Government of India has already issued several directives in past for making all websites multi-lingual. Although, website have become multi-lingual, still the issue was that the email address on these pages were still in English and on English domains but now all PSU, Corporates, Cooperation’s and even government departments who have already reserved there domain names with the extension .भारत, .कंपनी.भारत, .विद्या.भारत and .सरकार.भारत can avail BSNL facility and take hosted email services on these domains and create email address of their choice for eg. संपर्क@डाटावन.भारत,” said Data.
