Everything has a price on the dark web and most of them are dirt cheap. You can get someone’s entire identity for as less as $1170 in the USA and this price is likely to go down further for emerging countries like India. According to Top10vpn, the average sale prices is $1,170 to buy up someone’s entire identity if they were to have all the listed items. And, it is no longer just credit card details, hacked dating profiles, streaming services, Airbnb accounts are for sale. “While it may be no surprise to learn credit card details are among the most traded, did you know that fraudsters are hacking , Airbnb and Netflix accounts and selling them for not even $10 each?” said Simon Migliano, editor-in-chief, Top10vpn.

According to study, Paypal accounts with a healthy balance attract the highest prices of $247 on average. These findings are based on the review of most popular dark web markets, Dream, Point and Wall Street Market. These encrypted websites, which can only be reached using the Tor browser, allow criminals to anonymously sell stolen personal info, along with all sorts of other contraband, such as illicit drugs and weapons.

According to study, the hacked financial details are by far the most commonly listed items, credit cards in particular, and the most valuable. “Selling prices tend to be 10% of the available credit balance, however, we found credible examples of Paypal listings asking double that, suggesting high current demand for these accounts. We found listings featuring individuals’ name, billing address, mother’s maiden name, social security number, date of birth and other personal ,” said Simon.

Even data from Airbnb are on sale. They have an average sale price of less than $8. These details are used by fraudsters to hijack accounts of highly-rated guests to book stays in premium properties and even burglarize the hosts. Similarly hacked Skype accounts have been used to send spam even when two-factor authentication has been in place. The spam messages sometimes contain phishing links to popular sites like LinkedIn and Baidu. Mobile phone accounts are a treasure trove of fraud opportunities, especially given the use of SMS messages for verification for example. T-Mobile, featured at dark web with an average price of $10.51, was recently hacked.
