TCS, GE HealthCare extend partnership to digitally revamp global IT operations

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and GE HealthCare Technologies (GE HealthCare) have announced an extension to their relationship. The focus is on transforming GE HealthCare's IT operating model.

Consultancy Services (TCS) and GE Technologies (GE HealthCare) have announced an extension to their relationship. The focus is on transforming GE HealthCare’s IT operating model.

The collaboration will digitally revamp GE HealthCare’s global IT functions. A new operating model for managing its applications will be introduced. TCS will take on the management of the enterprise’s IT applications, including their development, maintenance, streamlining, and standardization. TCS will also incorporate software engineering, artificial intelligence, and , said a statement.

The transformation is designed to provide a platform for GE HealthCare’s growth and innovation, potentially reaching over one billion patients in more than 160 countries, the company said.

Jahid Khandaker, CIO, GE HealthCare said that the with TCS supports their goal to address patient needs rapidly, back medical technology research, and promote investment in care solutions.

“GE HealthCare is building a scalable, sustainable and globally unified IT operating model that is focused on digital transformation and innovation to provide precise, connected, and compassionate care,” said Khandaker.

“Our collaboration with TCS helps us deliver on our purpose to create a world where healthcare has no limits by rapidly addressing evolving patient needs, supporting medical technology research, and promoting investment in truly differentiating care solutions,” he said.

TCS’ Anupam Singhal, Business Head, Corporate Accounts, expressed the company’s intent to help GE HealthCare develop new healthcare products and services and to modernize their existing applications.

“We are excited to expand this relationship and leverage our deep contextual knowledge and technological expertise to help GE HealthCare develop innovative new healthcare products and services that aim to enhance patient outcomes, while modernizing and supporting their existing application estate,” said Singhal.
