The is a true behemoth in the sporting world, generating massive amounts of money in revenue each year. But one issue that the NFL has faced for a long time is the question of expansion. Unlike football, cricket, rugby, and many other sports American football are uniquely American but the interest is growing globally.

Like all companies, the NFL needs to increase its revenues each year. But the fact that the American market is incredibly saturated doesn't help. Those interested in the NFL already watch and will continue to do so, and those with little to no interest will continue to pursue other entertainment options. Growing the game outside the borders of the United States is therefore paramount to ensuring continued growth for the league as a whole.

The world of betting

Betting and gambling as a whole have become incredibly popular in recent years and more people than ever before are gambling online. The world of sportsbooks and bookmakers is very much a global one. For example, betting with chargers odds is open to bettors everywhere in the world. Even if this is something that the NFL has no part of, this is also something that is helping them to grow.

Social media plays a massive role

It's no question that the world of social media has turned a lot of industries on their head and forced them to adapt. The NFL and its teams have taken this in stride. The NFL has a massive presence on social media where they showcase everything from interviews to highlights of games. This is free to take part in and is acting as both a way for current fans to stay up to date while being the perfect gateway for new viewers to pick up interest.

Internet streaming

Internet streaming has made the NFL accessible to a whole new group of viewers and is something that has enabled people from all over the world to watch the league with ease. Being able to watch the NFL on demand without having to pay for an expensive cable subscription that also has the right to show the NFL (something that is not available everywhere) makes it possible for viewers all over the globe to tune in and watch. This has for a long time been the best way to watch eSports, and it's taking over in the world of traditional sports as well.
