Schools and Colleges open in Bangladesh in hybrid mode

Dhaka: After a long hiatus, schools and colleges will reopen on Sunday in , although online classes to continue as per the directives. Arrangements are being made to open schools and colleges as per the guidelines of the government.

However, the education administration says that even if the schools and colleges open, online classes will continue. Classes will also be broadcast on television. Apart from this, the Education Department and Department of Primary Education () will publish the routine of which class will be held so that there is no lack of coordination.

Various activities are going on including cleaning the yard of the educational institution, keeping benches at certain distances, and making arrangements for hand washing.

However, in order to comply with the hygiene rules, a class of students has to be divided into how many parts. The classroom is being prepared accordingly.

There will be six-day classes for SSC and HSC candidates of 2021 and 2022 and fifth class students at the beginning of the opening of the educational institution.

Ratan Chandra Pandit, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said, “The fifth grade class in the classroom will be for six days. The rest of the class will be one day a week. Classes for these classes will be broadcast on television for the remaining five days.”

Apart from this, the worksheet (assignment) being given to the students will also continue. In other words, we will do all the necessary activities to compensate the students, he added.

Secondary and Higher education Department Director-General Prof. Syed Md. Ghulam Farooq said, “We are closely monitoring the preparation of the schools as per the guidelines. Apart from this, we will also publish the routine of the class in a day or two from the department. And for the students who come to school one day a week, the television and online classes will be running for the remaining five days. ‘

However, the parents are worried about maintaining the hygiene rules after the school reopens. It will be difficult to follow the hygiene rules, especially in large educational institutions with more students.

Several schools in the capital have 28 to 30 thousand students.
