The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association () has announced the of veteran techie K as the new President and . IESA is the premier Industry Body representing the & Intelligent Electronics industry in India.

According to the industry body that represents the ESDM & Intelligent Electronics industry in India, Moorthy has been associated with Rambus India as the Corporate Vice President and Managing Director and led the National Semiconductor India Design centre as Managing Director. He also held key positions in R&D at Bharat Electronics.

“India with its demonstrated design expertise in systems and semiconductor design is well poised to leverage this strength to create a product ecosystem of high-value addition,” Moorthy said in a statement.

“Our start-ups and MSME's showed their mettle during the most challenging days of the pandemic creating highly innovative solutions on real-world problems,” Moorthy said.

At present, IESA represents over 400 companies from the electronics and semiconductor ecosystem. “I am confident that Moorthy will further accelerate the growth of the ESDM (Electronics System Design and Manufacturing) ecosystem and take it to the next level. His prior experience, entrepreneurial skills, and passion will open a plethora of opportunities,” Rajeev Khushu, IESA, Chairman said.

STMicro quarterly profit declines by 18.4% owing to slow demand

European chipmaker STMicroelectronics reported net revenues of $3.47 billion, marking an 18.4% decline compared to the same period last year. This downturn was particularly noticeable in the automotive and industrial sectors, although gains in personal electronics provided some balance.
